Large Financial Organisation...Capacity and Availability Specialist Permanent

The purpose of this role is to provide technical leadership and reporting requirements to the Service Management Team in relation to the desktop and wintel environment for 40,000 users. The role will focus on 70% technical leadership and guidance, and 30% data gathering, analysis and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities :

• End to end responsibility of capacity and availability in the desktop and wintel environment.
  
• Populate and maintain a Capacity Management (CDB) and Availability Management database (AMDB).
  
• Provide technical expertise and advice as part of design and enhancement team.
  
• Set-up automated measurements and reports
  
• Monitor systems availability and report SLA breaches.
  
• Investigate availability reports from service providers and internal processes to determine availability risks.
• Analyse availability breaches and recommend improvement.
  
• Establish and maintain availability and capacity baselines.
  
• Monitor IT systems usage volumes, patterns, trends, fluctuations and capacity

Experience Required:

• Availability and Capacity management knowledge of desktop and wintel servers (Exchange, Active Directory, SAN)
  
• Previous technical capabilities in an enterprise environment
  
• ITIL Foundations
  
• Metrics, measurements and analytics (Statistical analysis, trending)
