Our client a globally recognised software solution provider, is looking to take on either a developer skilled in C++ and SQL who is interested in looking to move into a Database Administrator role, or an experienced Database Administrator who will be able to pick up the required developer skills and product knowledge.

The successful candidate will be required to understand business requirements, develop solutions to meet these requirements, and implement the solutions in a high quality and efficient manner.  With addition to this, as a DBA, the role requires the successful candidate to maintain the development database environment and provide support to the developers and financial engineers.

To be successful for the role you must have:

• Ability to understand complicated designs and modify software efficiently and accurately with minimal assistance.
  
• Proven C++ skills.
  
• Knowledge of SQL Server 2000 & 2005 (Installation, administration, performance tuning, maintenance).
  
• Experience with Stored Procedure development experience.
  
• Experience with responsibility for design/implementation of a database of some complexity.
  
• Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Replication (desirable).
  
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
  
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
