VoIP service provider, Engin, is aiming to become a leading provider of triple play services by signing up as a primary distributor of the TiVo personal video recorder - to be introduced to Australia early in 2008 by 33 percent engin shareholder, Seven Media  Group - and as a reseller of Optus ADSL2+ services.

Engin will exclusively manage mass retail distribution of TiVo through its current reseller relationships and by expanding these. The agreement also empowers Engin to coordinate product development and marketing of the TiVo brand, to manage the TiVo website and undertake direct sales. The TiVo service will combine free-to-air broadcast content with the TiVo service, including SeasonPass recording and WishList searches.

Engin will resell Optus' bundled DSL service, which does not separately charge for line rental.  Optus has more than 270 ADSL2+ enabled exchanges and plans to increase the number to 366 by the end of the 2008 financial year. Engin claims a 40 percent share of the Australian consumer VoIP market. As at 6th June 2007 it claimed to have 73,000 subscriber services of which 66,000 were paying subscribers.{moscomment}
