Infrastructure services company S Central has acquired Rich Computing in its sixth takeover in less than a year, and its management says there's more to come.

"Rich Computing will add significant experience in security, storage and data management, and virtualisation technologies," said S Central MD Peter Mavridis.

Rich's customer base is in the corporate and government markets - notably in healthcare, such as the Hunter New England Area Health Service.

Other customers include universities, multinational mining and metals groups, the country's largest electricity generator, and Sanitarium Health Foods.

While Rich Computing will continue to operate under its current trading name, some back-end office systems will be merged with those of S Central.

The companies did not disclose details of the financial aspects of the transaction or any staffing changes that may arise. S Central's total headcount is now almost 170.

Other recent acquisitions by the company include Express Apps and AGM IT among others. S Central said it planned to continue on the acquisition path to create a national presence of IT specialists in application management, data management and unified communications solutions.

According to Mavridis, the latest acquisition "signals our willingness to expand aggressively and position the company to win larger corporate IT deals."
