The CleanWeb service is provided in association with MailGuard, which already provides Pacific Internet with a mail filtering service. If a client opts for CleanWeb, all of its web traffic passes through MailGuard filtering servers located at Pacific Internet data centres. An administration console allows clients to control access by user, file type, key words, and specific sites. Policies can be set for specific users and groups, or to the entire organisation. "Because PacNet CleanWeb stops access to inappropriate sites by category (pornography, gambling) and can control recreational downloads (movies, MP3s), the amount of bandwidth downloaded is substantially reduced and excess data bills can be audited, this translates to real financial savings," said MailGuard director Andrew Johnson.
