Electronic records management specialist AXS-One has updaed its Compliance Platform product to to ensure that records pertaining to a specific case or cases are preserved and managed, in line with litigation hold orders and that an auditable chain of custody supports testimony requirements.

The software addresses the requirements of amended US Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, The Australian Corporations Act (and potentially forthcoming e-discovery rules in the Federal Court), and other Australian legislation such as the Victorian Crimes Act (Document Destruction).

"With so much focus on data preservation and strict timelines for discovery orders, companies are starting to re-evaluate their previous technology decisions and are demanding tools that allow them to become pro-active about litigation readiness. Most are also looking to handle more of the process in-house," said David Thompson, vice president of AXS-One Asia Pacific.

The new software provides workflow-based case management capabilities; improvements to the Exchange, Notes and Domino archiving facilities; and improved monitoring and reporting.

AXS-One Compliance Platform also handles instant messages, reports, SAP documents and data, desktop documents, voice, video and image files.

A key advantage of this approach is that it allows organisations to continue to use their IT systems normally during the discovery process and other aspects of litigation.
