Document management provider,Fuji Xerox Global Services, has signed a five-year, $3.5 million contract with Rockdale City Council to upgrade and manage the Council's office equipment, provide print centre services and extend the existing imaging services. Fuji Xerox worked closely with Rockdale City Council to access the Council's document production and infrastructure, and completed a detailed analysis of its print processes, infrastructure, productivity metrics and costs, gaining an accurate picture of the Council's spend and identified opportunities for improvement. As part of the agreement, Fuji Xerox will now provide all print and imaging services on-site. Two Fuji Xerox staff will provide print centre services including digital print, document finishing and, as required, procuring print services from third parties as well as DocuCare services to maintain and support the Council's multifunction devices. In addition, imaging services will now scan all incoming mail so that it is archived in a digital mailroom and electronically routed to the intended recipient. All imaging services will be completed on site, scanning more than 2,000 documents per day. Dawne Clark, business services manager, Rockdale City Council said, "We have already experienced major costs savings through the imaging services and we anticipate significant long-term cost savings through the additional services from FXGS. Major benefits Fuji Xerox provides us with are better and more reliable equipment, which is well maintained, as well as access to better market print prices when we have to send print jobs offsite." Andy Berry, general manager, Fuji Xerox Global Services said, "Documents are our core business and we can help organisations not only cut costs, but improve efficiency by outsourcing their document processes to us." "Rockdale City Council is an excellent example of how we become embedded in our client's business and identify further ways we can deliver significant cost savings and improve the efficiency of our client's document processes."
