Australian enterprise software developer, Mincom, has announced that the IT arm of Ivanhoe Mines, l2ms.net, has gone live with Mincom's Ellipse enterprise suite in Singapore following re-structuring to move IT management in-house.

The solution, configured exclusively for Ivanhoe Mines, is designed to enable the company to better manage costs and to identify or track the capital cost of the mining infrastructure at the Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold development project in southern Mongolia. Ivanhoe Mines is an international mining company and Oyu Tolgoi is the world's largest new copper-gold project.

Richard Mathews, CEO of Mincom, said, "Working with Ivanhoe Mines is Mincom's first venture into Mongolia and represents a significant growth opportunity for us. It is important because it not only consolidates our presence in Central Asia but also continues our expansion into Russian-speaking markets.  Ivanhoe Mines are currently at the development phase of the Oyu Tolgoi project and will move to the production phase over the next few years. This provides us a fantastic platform to extend Mincom's footprint in Mongolia, dubbed the new frontier of the mining world.
