Contact centre company Touchbase has teamed with Cisco Systems on a project to roll out a national business communications network for Australasian insolvency, corporate restructuring and forensic firm, McGrathNicol+Partners.

McGrathNicol’s headquarters in Melbourne was brought on line last weekend, linking 250 staff both in the field and in offices in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

The roll out, completed in under four weeks, involved Touchbase providing and installing a Cisco wireless LAN and full Cisco IP telephony including voice mail and unified messaging. The solution also comprises a small call centre, video conferencing, soft phone and fax server applications. All elements were provided by Touchbase on a Cisco platform.

Matthew Doyle, McGrathNicol chief operating officer, said “In our business we live on the phone so this was a crucial project."

McGrathNicol has contracted Touchbase to provide technical support for the next three years. Touchbase Australasia managing director Magnus Maynard said the project means McGrathNicol is able to run its voice and data using a single technology.

"It’s a single point of contact for their communications across the organisation. It is cost effective and gives McGrathNicol the ability to include advanced applications such as collaboration and presence aware software with minimum business disruption," Mr Maynard said.
