On that priming depends the future of civilisation. How we handle the digitising of the libraries will determine who we are to become." That is not likely to change: and as the sum total of that knowledge and information expands exponentially it would become increasingly difficult for anyone at the cutting edge of any field of human endeavour to appraise themselves of the current status, let alone make progress, without all the tools that information technology provides.{moscomment}
